The villa vicinity is accessible through a private road in the middle of gently sloping rice field. The main building is impressive, towering over the compound with large wooden Javanese style entrance. It is featuring large living and dining area set along with the kitchen and guest lavatory on the ground floor, opens to the garden and pool. A large screen TV with high class sound system make this living area complete. This is the center of the life of the villa. A sleek wooden stair adjacent to the dining area leads to the upper floor which consists of an open air mezzanine with alluring view to the surrounding greenery. Villa Indah Manis is a peaceful 4-bedroom retreat that can sleep up to 16 guests. Complete with two swimming pools and a spa, it is operated along the lines of an intimate boutique hotel, and rests in a spectacular location upon ’The Bukit’ – Bali’s southern peninsula. The property incorporates a completely self-contained 1-bedroom Honeymoon Suite with private pool, which can be rented independently.
Surrounded by forest and rural scenes, Villa Indah Manis commands breathtaking views spanning the Indian Ocean and the southernmost tip of the island all the way up the west coast past Jimbaran, the airport, Kuta and Canggu, and inland to Bedugul. On a clear day, the awesome vista takes in Mt Batu Karu together with the volcanoes of East Java. This beautiful area boasts some of the most idyllic beaches in Bali, including Balangan, Dreamland, Bingin and Padang Padang. These hidden, white sandy coves are great for both surfers and non-surfers alike.
Designed to maximise the views and catch the cool breezes even at the hottest time of year, the property offers a blend of air-conditioned comfort and tropical open-air living. It is composed of a series of pavilions, with a dramatic 14-metre lap pool, complemented by a flat green lawn, terraces ornamental ponds and water features. All of the bedrooms are equipped with safe deposit boxes and hairdryers, and additional TVs can be provided upon request.
The property is built to be functional, designed around weddings, parties and celebrations. A full service kitchen provides the facilities to cater for up to eighty guests, all of whom can be seated on the terrace. The main garden can accommodate the same number for a Champagne reception, and the open-air bar is also a suitable area for stand-up cocktails. The pool can be covered with a temporary platform to create a dance floor or a stage for a live band. The terrace and lawns are also perfect for dance performances, and barbeques, which are a specialty of the villa. The modern Balinese architecture makes use of local materials, such as white Palimanan stone, teakwood and sandwash, together with ’sirap’ ironwood shingle for the roofs.
Approached via a wide paved driveway, guests enter the property to find a pathway lit by lanterns and lined with palm trees. The 13 x 6 metre Living & Dining Pavilion is the focal point and social hub of Villa Indah Manis, boasting a graceful shingle roof unobstructed by pillars, therefore giving it the appearance of a floating structure. Open on four sides with sliding glass doors at the front, which can be closed for protection against the elements, the pavilion is flanked by a lotus pond and serenaded by the mellow sound of water bubbling over ornamental urns. A stepping stone bridge marks the entrance, and the soaring roof is lined with bamboo. The pavilion is furnished with a modern dining table that can comfortably seat fourteen. The custom-made furnishings and accessories include three deeply-cushioned sofas, lazy chairs, sideboards, coffee tables, two impressive wrought iron chandeliers, ceiling fans and candelabra.
A stand-alone teakwood Bar rests at the edge of the pool terrace to one side of the Living & Dining Pavilion. This square Bar is characterised by an ’alang alang’ thatched roof and furnished with ten high chairs. The slatted wooden sides have been cleverly designed to hide some discreet lighting, which means that the bar dramatically lights up at night.
The 14 x 4 metre, infinity-edge lap pool is lined with green Java stone, and appears to overflow into the forest below. At the far end, it is sensationally suspended eight metres above the ground and the water is 1.4 metres in depth. There is a 60-centimetre shallow end for kids, and this part of the pool is also very pleasant for sitting in. The terrazzo pool deck is furnished with stylish, high quality, lightweight metal sunloungers and Chinese-style sun parasols. Mini parasols are also to be found throughout the property for the use of guests. There are numerous relaxation areas, strategically positioned in the shade, so that guests will always find a private spot for peace and quiet.
The garden is planted with frangipani and flowering shrubs, and adorned with pots of bougainvillea and a carved frieze depicting characters from The Ramayana.
Two sets of steps lead down to a lower level, below the garden and swimming pool. This area houses a cosy snug known as The Maharajah Room. Decorated in rich reds and complemented by a comfortable built-in L-shaped sofa, silk cushions and framed textiles, the room is equipped with a TV, DVD and surround sound speakers. There is also a library of over 150 DVDs, a refrigerator, and an additional dining table for casual dining. Immediately outside is a special sandy area allocated for Pétanque – a game similar to boules. Unique Pétanque packages are a specialty of Villa Indah Manis. Additionally, kids, teenagers and adults will enjoy the games room complete with pool table located immediately underneath the swimming pool. A daybed is positioned beside the pool table, and there is also a dartboard.
Located to one side of the Maharajah Room is a study with a desk and Internet access. There is also a wine cellar, regulated at European cave temperature.
The Fitness Room, located between the Studio and the Spa, is equipped with a running machine, an exercise bike, a stepper, a rowing machine, light weights and wall mirrors.
The spa is positioned on the same level, on the far side of the games room. Here guests can enjoy beautiful views and blissful spa treatments including a complimentary massage on arrival. Flanked by sweet-scented frangipani trees, the spa boasts an open-sided, thatched massage pavilion, known as a ’bale’, in addition to a Jacuzzi, a washroom and a fabulous bathtub for rose petal baths. The spa is equipped with a massage bed, and a chair and washbasin designed for the Indonesian ’creambath’ – a special treatment for the hair that includes a conditioning scalp massage and moisturising hair crème together with a relaxing neck and shoulder massage.
The semi open-air service kitchen is fully equipped with everything that the chef needs in order to prepare complimentary breakfasts and delicious meals selected ’restaurant style’ from an enticing a la carte menu. Located behind the living and dining pavilion, with colourful tiles and wooden wall panels that can be closed or open, it is fitted with gleaming appliances, black marble worktops, and a large oven with a gas hob. This impressive kitchen is also a professional facility for outside caterers to prepare lavish feasts for weddings, parties and special functions. Additionally, it is the venue for Balinese cooking classes for the guests.
The Kamboja Bedroom is accessed by double Balinese doors. It features a marble floor under a soaring roof, and displays a bold use of colour. Four Bedroom Villa is the largest villa of Heavenly Residence. An architectural marvel in itself, the villa is set in steps cascading down the cliff, like paddy terraces, and took over 18 months to build. Called Villa OMG for ‘Oh My God’, it is named after the gasps of involuntary surprise made by those who set foot upon this villa for the first time.
That awe is well deserved: first, it is huge, at 700 sq m (7,534 sq ft), and second, from the 180-degree views available from the villa, it appears as though the Indian Ocean has just been laid at one’s feet, wide and endless. The 25-m long (27-ft) infinity-edge lap pool has its long sides pouring out seaward. A mere glimpse is surely an invitation to sit in the inset jacuzzi and try to figure out where the sea, the horizon and the pool’s edge meets.
Once out of the water, there is also a long ironwood sundeck, complete with a “bale” and lawn, offering equally splendid views. With a capacity of 50, a more dramatic setting for a glamourous party or wedding would be hard to imagine. But Villa OMG is more than its exterior. Acid washed marble flooring flows through the villa, which is filled with woven rattan and seagrass furniture. Thai silk of various colours are used to denote different areas of the villa: bronze for the games room, charcoal grey for the dining room and blue for the living room. The luxurious interior also contains thoughtful touches of Balinese culture, such as a 6-m long abstract canvas from local artist Wayan Gabrig in the living room.

For more formal entertaining it’s capable of housing large groups for dinner, or for cocktails and canapés around the pool.
The lower level includes two cosy inlets perfect for massage treatments, an eighteen metre infinity pool overlooking a jungle paradise and a large poolside area, perfect for open air daytime dining. Located in a private room off the ‘Hub’, the games room houses a billiard table, a chess set, two big armchairs and a host of bar stools positioned next to a bar-shelf, where guests can sit and rest their drinks while watching their opponents at work. The air-conditioned AV room is located to one side of the bar. The large dining room is a mirror version of the living room, situated on the opposite side of the open-air terrace. The room is furnished with an impressive glass-topped dining table that seats fourteen people in comfortable cushioned dining chairs. Like the living room, it boasts glass walls on three sides, which folds open onto the terrace. The Estate’s chef will prepare a sumptuous meal to personal taste, ensuring guests will enjoy fine dining in this al fresco setting. The stylish open-plan kitchen is a designers dream in white terrazzo and stainless steel. Pendulous aluminium lanterns hang over the worktop, which doubles as an eating area housing eight white ‘satellite dish’ stools.
The open-air breakfast room is a pergola with a terracotta tiled floor. It is furnished with a wood and chrome table and matching chairs and is decorated with beautiful potted orchids. A great outdoor area in which to each a fresh breakfast juice and soak up the rising sun!

Villa Batujimbar is located within the Batujimbar Estate, arguably Bali’s most exclusive district, in the center of Sanur. Traditionally a fishing village, Sanur is one of the few remaining Brahman kuasa villages in Bali controlled by members of the priestly caste.
