Indonesia is scheduled to host the SEA Games 2011 from 11 – 25 November in two cities, namely Palembang, South Sumatra, and Jakarta. This will be the fourth time that Indonesia hosts the Games and the first time outside the capital. Nonetheless, Jakarta will still act as co-host where half of the 44 competing sports will be staged

Most of the venues and the athlete village in Palembang will be new constructions, while those in Jakarta will be renovated and upgraded

As venue for the 26th South East Asian Games 2011, Palembang’s Gelora Sriwijaya sport centre and construction of the Jakabaring main stadium will be ready by June 2011 promised Wafid Muharam, Secretary of the Ministry for Youth and Sports earlier. This will allow ample time for athletes to train and the necessary preparations made prior to the actual opening of the Games.

Master Bedrooms

There are two master bedrooms at Villa LeGa (bedroom 3 and bedroom 5), both positioned on the upper floor to maximise the view and the sounds of the sea. Bedroom 3 has a timber floor and a soaring roof. Furnished with a canopied king bed and boasting a dressing area and a sitting area with cane sofas and chairs, it is blessed with a wonderful vista of the Indian Ocean and coastline stretching from the Bukit Peninsula to Canggu. The ensuite semi open-air bathroom is fitted with a single washbasin, a walk-in monsoon shower, bathtub and toilet. There is also an open-air deck at the front of the bedroom – accessed via glass doors, or from the balcony that runs alongside –furnished with all-weather rattan sofas.

Bedroom 5 is a huge room with a timber floor and soaring roof. Furnished with a king bed and featuring a sitting area, it also offers magnificent views of the ocean. There is a narrow balcony at the front furnished with two chairs. There is also a spacious dressing area and an ensuite bathroom, which is similar to the bathroom adjoining bedroom 3, but with twin washbasins. The cream walls in the bedrooms are adorned with artwork and there are some interesting local artefacts. Bedrooms

Bedrooms 1 and 2 on the ground floor are each accessed via sliding glass doors from the pool deck. The rooms are mirror versions of one another, featuring marble floors, ensuite bathrooms and walk-in, well-lit dressing rooms. Surrounded by a wall, the neat, flat garden is dominated by a 12 x 4 metre swimming pool with a timber deck on three sides, furnished with sunbeds and umbrellas. The deck is partially shaded by the overhanging roof of the house. Four ancient frangipani trees drop their fragrant blossoms and there is a stone carved mural of galloping horses along one wall. • One Manager, meets and greets guests on arrival, leads the staffing team to meet the expectations of each guest.

• One Cook, trained in local & international cuisine and in charge of the market shopping and preparation of guest meals.
• Three Security Guards, on-duty to ensure the safety and security of the guests, and the premises.
• One Gardener & Pool Attendant, work discreetly in maintaining the landscape and the pool without disturbing the guests.

Food and Beverages

Villa LeGa offers a dining service with groceries charged at cost. There is a suggestion menu, and guests will need to provide some money in advance so that the staff can do the grocery shopping, with receipts provided for reference. The cook can prepare anything from snacks up to four-course dinners, or other requests as required. Western meals are available, but guests are also recommended to sample some of the local Balinese dishes for a cultural experience. The cook will strive to fulfill any special dietary requirements. All beverages are charged per drink, except for wine which is charged by the bottle.

Food and Beverage Charges

Food and beverage items are charged based on grocery cost system. Guests will need to provide some money in advance and the staff will do the shopping for you and keep the receipts for your reference. Food items and beverage are charged at cost price. Please ask your manager if you wish to check your daily expense.

Spa Services

Guests at Villa LeGa can enjoy a Balinese massage (at extra cost) in the privacy of the villa or poolside within the garden. Traditional Balinese massage is a remedy that has been used by Balinese villagers for many generations to relieve muscular aches and pains and boost circulation after long days of toiling in the rice fields. Using a blend of flower oil and selected herbs, hands-on healing techniques are applied with a combination of skin rolling, gentle palm pressure, long kneading strokes, acupressure and reflexology. Massage treatments are provided by a professional outside spa therapist, and the staff are on hand to assist with appointments.

Location

Villa LeGa is located right next to the beach at Batubelig, a safe upmarket area close to Petitenget and Seminyak on Bali’s south-western coast. This is the most visited part of the island for both tourism and business purposes, and is home to some very classy properties.

About Villa Joss in Seminyak

Completed in August 2010, the contemporary Balinese architecture of Villa Joss features a living room and dining room pavilion, a four bedroom pavilion, an entertainment room and business centre, and an open air ‘bale’ lounge pavilion in the spacious gardens with a 16-metre swimming pool and outdoor Jacuzzi. The architect’s other work can be seen in some of Seminyak’s finest venues including Ku De Ta. Villa Joss is named after the owner’s daughter.

The fine art traditions of Bali have been highlighted with care in Villa Joss. Upon entering the main gate, guests are greeted by a stone relief carving of Balinese Gamelan musicians which dates back to the Majapahit Kingdom’s retreat from Java to Bali in the 1500?s.

The original carving is found in one of Bali’s oldest temples, Pura Dalem in Desa Singepadu Tengah, and was reproduced at Villa Joss by a family of artisans from Batu Bulan, the most famous stone-carving village in Bali. The gorgeous entrance to Villa Joss involves a covered walkway bordered by lotus ponds with Koi fish; all draped in a hanging garden of green vines leading up to a serene seated stone Buddha set against a cascading waterfall. The bedrooms and living spaces of the 4 bedroom Villa Joss showcase beautiful fine art paintings and limited-edition litho prints by some of Indonesia’s best-known artists. Each bathroom features a stone relief carving detailing different aspects of the main temple carving inside the main gate.

The walled garden and graceful interiors offer an abundance of space, natural light and separate places to relax. Children can enjoy a BOSE surround sound movie on the 48? flat screen TV in the entertainment pavilion while one group of adults enjoy some reading in the living room, and another group of adults lounge, surf the internet or watch sports on the 45? flat screen TV in the garden ‘bale’. The pool deck is punctuated with big pots of flowering lotus. The interiors of the villa have been lovingly furnished, accented with colour and completed with delightful attention to detail.

The owners have made every effort to employ ‘Green Friendly’ technologies in the construction of Villa Joss including low energy lighting and a combination of solar and low energy convection water heating systems. Similarly, with the exception of certain high end imported fittings and equipment that were not available in Indonesia, every effort was made to use local materials and craftsmen. All furniture was locally made in Bali and Java.

Accommodation

There are four bedroom suites with polished teak floors and cabinetry in the two-storey sleeping pavilion. Three are furnished with king size beds and one with twin beds (which can be put together with a specially designed top mattress). Each has an ensuite bathroom, as well as a spacious dressing area with plenty of hanging space. Each bedroom is equipped with a 42” satellite-channel flat screen TV plus a DVD player (upon request), air-conditioning, ceiling fan, safe deposit box and WiFi internet connection. Master Bedroom Suite

The Master Bedroom Suite is located on ground level with sliding glass doors opening onto a covered terrace beside the swimming pool. It is accented in green and gold with a warm teakwood floor and a large bright painting by Made Gunawan of the Elephant God – Ganesh – surrounded by elfish characters dancing and playing. This spacious bedroom is furnished with a king-size ornately hand carved four poster bed with white shear curtains, copper bedside lamps and a 42” satellite-channel TV positioned on a matching cabinet. There is a spacious seat at the foot of the bed and a teak cabinet dressing area with plenty of hanging space.

Joss Bedroom Suite

The Joss Bedroom Suite also sits on the ground level with a teak wood floor and sliding glass doors opening onto a covered terrace beside the swimming pool. The room presents a fun and flamboyant colour scheme with a red lacquered cabinet, matching red lamps and the striking ‘Made Pejeng’ oil painting by the renowned artist Krijono. It features a hand carved four-poster bed draped in white shear curtains – and pink shears are available upon request to thrill any princesses staying in the Joss Bedroom Suite! There is a cushioned bench at the foot of the bed, a 42” satellite-channel TV and a teak cabinet dressing area with plenty of hanging space.

Mount Agung Suite

The Mount Agung Suite is the upstairs master, with a teakwood floor, a green theme, and sliding glass doors that open onto a delightful shared balcony offering big sky views of Bali’s carefree kites flying over the treetops. The section of balcony immediately outside the bedroom is furnished with a table and four chairs, making it a lovely spot for breakfast. The room has a king-size bed with matching cushioned bench, side tables with white woven aluminium bedside lamps and is equipped with a 42” satellite-channel TV. The “Odalan” oil painting on the wall by Atjeng wall features a colourful Balinese beachside ceremony – much like those guests can enjoy during their stay in Bali. There is also a large dressing area with plenty of hanging space.

Batubelig Suite

The Batu Belig Suite is also located upstairs, accented in gold and copper, with a teak wood floor and sliding glass doors that open onto the shared balcony. The balcony is furnished with a comfy upholstered sofa and chairs, and offers views of the greenery and rooftops of Batu Belig village. This bedroom offers the facility of twin beds (which alternatively can be joined with a specially designed top mattress) and a 42” satellite-channel TV positioned on a matching dark wood cabinet. The “Ke Pura” oil painting by Maria Tjui features a beautiful Balinese temple ceremony. There is also a large dressing area with plenty of hanging space.

Ensuite Bathroom

All four spacious ensuite bathrooms are fashioned in non-slip marble floors with matching polished marble walls. All are fitted with walk-in monsoon showers, large washbasins on polished black granite vanity units (twin washbasins on the ground floor) and large format toilets. Each of the two downstairs bathrooms feature a spacious indoor section with floor to ceiling glass walls looking out to a private outdoor garden shower area. Each of the downstairs bathrooms also feature a huge bathtub carved out of a solid block of marble, as well as two showers – one indoors with views of the private garden, and one shower under the sky in the open-air garden courtyard with high walls for privacy and a pebbled floor planted with heliconias and giant taro.

Living Area, Swimming Pool & Jacuzzi

The air-conditioned living and dining pavilion is framed in a soaring timber-lined roof with beautiful exposed beams and exquisite natural woodwork, three ceiling fans, a marble floor and folding wood framed glass doors on three sides that can be opened to invite the garden indoors. The room is furnished with a massive deeply cushioned leather sofa, two matching leather armchairs and a stainless steel arched reading lamp. On the opposite side is a 3.6 metre dining table for ten which is lit by elegant green glass and cast aluminium pendant lamps. The table is made of teak recycled from old buildings in Java along with the teak and black leather strap dining room chairs. The ambiance of the living and dining pavilion is enhanced by the BOSE sound system.

The garden has a 16m x 4m metre swimming pool with a non-slip marble pool deck embellished with big pots of lotuses. There is a cool Jacuzzi in a separate section at one end of the pool with a recycled teak table and umbrella in the middle of the Jacuzzi for afternoon drinks and music. The swimming pool features a spectacular 500-kilo reclining Buddha statue carved in Java from hard granite river stone. The Buddha appears to be floating above the water and rests against a waterfall wall of Indian slate.

‘Bale’ Pavilion in Garden

Positioned in a quiet spot on the far side of the swimming pool is a rectangular open-sided ‘bale’ pavilion with BOSE sound system. One side of the ‘bale’ is dedicated to alfresco dining and furnished with another 3.6 metre recycled teak dining table with white metal legs and matching white leather strap recycled teak chairs. The other side is designed for relaxing on a large U-shaped cushioned sitting and sleeping area. A 45” flat screen TV is positioned up on high, making this the perfect spot to laze the afternoon away while watching a live sports broadcast or romantic movie, or enjoying the WiFi internet connection. The bale is also a great place to enjoy a barbeque prepared by the chef. The gas barbeque grill, and cold drinks fridge, is housed in a special unit close by the ‘bale’.

Bar & Kitchen

There are two fully equipped kitchens at Villa Joss, one is the service kitchen and domain of the chef and assistant cook, hidden out of sight at the back, and the other is an open plan ‘show’ kitchen incorporated within the living and dining pavilion. Fashioned in polished black granite with splashes of iridescent blue, gold-&-silver-streaked slate and teak cabinetry, this feature kitchen is equipped with a large two-door fridge, gas hob, cooker extractor hood, espresso machine and other imported appliances. It features a wide island bar, which is lit by green glass and cast aluminium pendant lamps, clad in teak and furnished with three unique handcrafted high stools.

Entertainment Room & Business Centre

The air-conditioned multipurpose room features a high open ceiling with beautiful exposed beams and natural woodwork, a BOSE surround sound home theatre, play area for children and business centre. It is finished with a polished teak wood floor, a trio of blue hand-blown glass lanterns, and folding wood framed glass doors. One half of the room is fitted with an L-shaped built-in recycled teak wood desk that runs along two walls, equipped with plenty of electricity sockets so that guests can plug in their laptop computers and make use of the WiFi internet connection. • One Chef and One Assistant Cook, Villa Joss is proud to have an excellent Chef trained in local & international cuisine who works with a capable assistant cook. The Chef takes personal responsibility for market shopping to ensure the freshest and best quality produce, meats and seafood.
• Two Personal Butlers, the butlers work in shifts to provide a personal butler service including Food & Beverage as well as accommodating all other guest needs and requests.
• Two Attendants, the attendants work in shifts to attend to all housekeeping and laundry services. They also work cooperatively with the Butlers to serve guests of Villa Joss. The attendants perform the daily offerings throughout the villa in keeping with Balinese Hindu tradition.
• One Gardener & Pool Attendant, the friendly gardener works discreetly to maintain the beautiful gardens and to maintain and test the pool daily without disturbing the guests.
• Four Security Guards, the guards are well-trained professionals hired from the local Batu Belig village to ensure the safety and security of guests and the premises.

The different buildings composing this 1200 m2 5 bedrooms villa are situated on the top of the hill overlooking the surrounding, a 132 m2 amazing swimming pool and the valley. The bedrooms are different and are perfectly decorated with a interior design dedicated for each of them to a specific region of Indonesia such as Sumba, Sumbawa, ….. and of course Bali.

All the bedrooms are fully equipped with air-conditioned, flat screen TV with satellite and DVD, stereo system, wireless internet access… and one of them features its one private swimming pool. The absolute beachfront, Villa Pushpapuri is located near the traditional village of Ketewel on Bali’s south-east coast. This stunning villa boasts four bedrooms, a 20-metre infinity-edge swimming pool, a splendid living & dining room, and a games room, complemented by the finest furnishings and a five-star standard of service.

Bounded by the River Wos and a rugged surf beach. Furthermore, it is blessed with spectacular outlook: across the ocean towards the beaches of Keramas and the islands of Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan, and over the pounding surf to the unrivalled grandeur of sacred Mt Agung…’the finest view in the land of dreams’.

Entrance

Guests will enter the villa through a large watergarden comprised of four fishponds complete with bubbling fountains. This delightful courtyard area is planted with yellow irises, torch ginger, and a pair of ancient frangipani trees, while the walls are decorated with hand-carved Palimanan stone friezes depicting ocean and river themes. There is a secure car park and garage at the entrance.

Living and Dining Pavilion

Approaching the large living and dining pavilion, the ocean is immediately visible through the glass walls, which form three sides of this stand-alone building. A statue of Ganesha rests on one side of the glass entrance doors beside a sparkling wall of water cascading down to a lower level. The rectangular-shaped pavilion features a marble floor and a soaring roof lined with rattan. The sliding glass doors can be opened to allow the sea breezes and the rhythmic sounds of the waves to penetrate, and the room can also be cooled by ceiling fans. A circular dining table for eight is positioned at one end.

The other side of the pavilion is furnished with two sofas, lazy chairs, an ottoman, a coffee table, handcrafted lamps and local artefacts. A small kitchen is positioned next to the dining area and a fully equipped service kitchen is located in the staff service area. Guests also have the option of dining alfresco on the elevated terrace in front of the pavilion, which overlooks the garden and the pool and the ocean, and is furnished with an outdoor dining table and chairs. A guest washroom is situated immediately outside the living and dining pavilion.

Games Room

A stone staircase leads from the living pavilion down to the air-conditioned games room, complete with an arched wooden ceiling and an adjoining, open-air, walled courtyard. The games room is equipped with a pool table, a dart board, a wood-panelled bar with six bar chairs, a luxurious leather sofa, and a 40? LCD screen satellite TV, ideal for watching sports. The courtyard is open to the sky, bordered by a water cascade, and furnished with a synthetic rattan bar table and high chairs, together with a coffee table and chairs.

Master Suite

The 2-storey master suite comprises the ground floor master bedroom and en-suite bathroom, and an upstairs study together with a DVD room. The air-conditioned master bedroom embraces a green theme with a cool marble floor and a built-in daybed. Sliding glass doors open onto the stone terrace on the one side and a timber deck on the other side, offering wonderful ocean views. The bedroom is furnished with a king size, canopied, four-poster bed and a lazy chair. Sumptuous cushions, golden Buddhas and an LCD satellite TV and DVD/CD player, complete the picture of luxury. An en-suite dressing area presents built-in teakwood wardrobes with shelves, drawers and a safe deposit box, and vanity unit with twin washbasins and a large wall mirror. A toilet is tucked away in a cubicle. A rainshower and a large, sunken Jacuzzi are positioned in an adjoining open-air walled courtyard, complete with a fish pond, potted plants and a Palimanan stone frieze.

A downstairs hallway is accessed via a door from the master bedroom and also from an external door. From here, a set of stairs leads up to a cosy, air-conditioned sitting room boasting an aquamarine theme. Equipped with a DVD player, a Playstation, a low opium table, a sideboard, and a corner sofa that can be converted to twin beds, this room is ideal for children and adults alike. Next door is an air-conditioned study with windows on three sides that can be folded open to the breeze, offering an eye-boggling 270-degree view of the river estuary, the mountains, the beach, the ocean and the neighbouring islands. Featuring dark purple walls, the study is furnished with a desk, chair, large sofa and shelf unit. WiFi Internet access is available throughout the villa.

Guest Bedrooms

The main guest bedroom is on the ground floor under a soaring roof, with sliding glass doors on two sides. Characterised by an olive green theme, it is similar to the master bedroom, furnished with a king-size bed and equipped with air-conditioning, a built-in daybed, an LCD satellite TV and DVD/CD player. A timber deck at the front is furnished with a table and a pair of planter chairs. The air-conditioned dressing area presents a wardrobe, a safe deposit box, a reading desk and a full length mirror. The en-suite open-air bathroom features a terrazzo vanity unit with wash basin, a toilet within an alcove, and a rainshower, harmonised with a fishpond, creamy-white Palimanan stone walls and floor, and a hand-carved frieze.

The other two air-conditioned guestrooms are ideal for children. Located on ground level, one is furnished with twin beds and the other with a queen-size, four-poster bed. Each is equipped with an LCD satellite TV and DVD/CD player. Three steps lead from each bedroom down to dressing areas, each fitted with a wardrobe, a safe deposit box, and a vanity unit with a washbasin. The twin-bedded room features a toilet within a cubicle on this level. En-suite garden bathrooms present outdoor rainshowers. The room with the queen bed boasts an additional rainshower indoors, and a bathtub and toilet positioned in the private, walled, outdoor area.

Garden & Pool

The beautiful garden is punctuated with coconut palms and dominated by a 20 x 4 metre, infinity-edge lap pool that follows the line of the beach and is elevated above a beachside lawn. A large ‘bale bengong’ relaxation pavilion is situated at one end of the pool and fitted with two, large mattresses, making it an ideal spot for a massage. At the other end of the pool is a wood-panelled pool bar with a pitched roof. The pool deck is furnished with sunloungers and umbrellas. There is also a pool shower. The expansive gardens make Villa Pushpapuri the perfect setting for barbeques, weddings, parties and other special events, including open-air Balinese dance performances. If required, the catering can be managed by external caterers who have the world-class expertise to prepare a sumptuous feast in addition to the coordination of decorations, flowers, lighting and entertainment.

Staff Services

Pushpapuri is supported by the exemplary service of a carefully selected team of highly trained, friendly staff who will do everything within their power to ensure that guests at the villa enjoy a truly luxurious and relaxing experience. The team is headed by a villa manager who will oversee and coordinate the staff and property, and is available to assist guests during their stay. There is also a cook, trained in the preparation of both Asian and Western cuisine, and personal butlers who are on hand to pamper and look after every guest need. Additionally, the team includes housekeepers, a gardener and pool attendant, and security guards operating on a 24-hour shift basis. The staff are responsible for all the market shopping, in accordance with the whims of the guests. Baby-sitting and massage services and the facilities of a car and driver are also available on request at an extra charge.

Location

Quiet and safe, Villa Pushpapuri is situated close to the pretty village of Ketewel on Bali’s south-east coast. The streets of the village are lined with leafy trees; a small intersection is the venue of a fruit and vegetable market, and colourful temple ceremonies are a common sight. The Sanur-Kusumba by-pass, from Seminyak to Candidasa, has made this rural area accessible to the rest of the island and positions the villa within easy driving distance of Bali’s tourist attractions. Pushpapuri is just 45 minutes’ drive from Bali’s international airport, 30 minutes from the cultural town of Ubud, ten minutes from Sukawati art and handicraft market, ten minutes from Sanur, and 30-45 minutes from the restaurants, shops and nightlife of Kuta and Seminyak. The diversity of the island presents everything from diving, cruising and trekking, to adventure sports and theme parks. Ketewel village is the origin of the famous Legong Bededari Dance, while the nearby village of Sawa historically produced the finest Legong dancers on the island. The beach of Pabean was once a small port through which oriental traders brought their products; at low tide you can still see the structure of the old harbour, and a Chinese cemetery is located nearby. Balinese Hindu purification ceremonies are held beside the ocean at the sacred Pura Segara sea temple, and the adjacent reef is renowned for its world class surf breaks
